About Ingrid Dávalos

I began my career in international education as an intern at the Office of Admissions at Smith College in the United States while studying there as an international student. Since then, I have spent nearly two decades working in counseling, admissions and teaching in Paraguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Singapore, and The Netherlands.

My extensive expertise in university admissions has enabled me to successfully guide hundreds of students through the application process to universities around the world. Having experienced the challenges and opportunities of studying abroad in the United States and Canada firsthand, I particularly enjoys helping international students and their families navigate unfamiliar education systems with confidence. I strives to provide guidance that is knowledgeable, approachable, and tailored to each student's individual goals and aspirations.

My professional affiliations include a membership to the International Association of College Admission Counseling (IACAC). As part of this organization I am a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, which highlights my commitment to fostering an inclusive and representative global community in this profession. 

In addition to supporting students applying to universities around the world, I am a Senior Examiner and Team Leader for Social and Cultural Anthropology with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Studying anthropology as part of the IB diploma program sparked a lifelong fascination with different cultures and perspectives and that passion continues to shape my work and is one of the reasons I enjoy collaborating with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Having lived in several Dutch cities -including Maastricht, The Hague, and Leiden, where I am currently based- Ingrid also brings a particularly deep understanding of life and education in The Netherlands to the students and families I support.
